Hi, makeup geeks !! Today I’ll be reviewing six shades from ColourPop Ultra Matte Lip Collection. ColourPop has been pretty consistent in bringing forth new makeup collections along with keeping the price range in control. Although, the shades I’m reviewing ain’t from its latest collection. These are the shades I snapped up last year. Let me first talk about the general pros and cons of these babies.
Pros –
- Travel- friendly packaging
- Lightweight texture, very comfortable to wear
- Dries within 30 seconds of application
- Ultra-matte finish, completely transfer and smudge proof
- Doesn’t stain the lips
- Staying power is almost 10 hours
- Superb pigmentation in one swipe
- Priced cheaply
Cons-
- Doe shaped applicator makes it rather difficult to reach the corner of the lips
- The color of the tube doesn’t reflect the actual color of the lipstick
- Makes your lips dry, if used without lippie primer/ lip balm
- Unavailable in India, although one can order online through official website
- Fragrance free
Price- USD 6
Now let’s see the shades I have
Colourpop Ultra Matte Lip SUNDAY
This shade is a neutral color. It’s hard to describe the exact color, it looks like pinkish-brown nude for warm undertones. The package shows that the color is nude brown, which is not true. The color wouldn’t suit dark skin tones, but for fair to medium, this color is great for everyday use.
ColourPop Ultra Matte Lip MONDAY
This is my second favorite color among all six. This is what I truly call brownish nude color. This beige color is great for my warm undertone. If you’re a nude lipstick lover, this color will catch instant attention.
ColourPop Ultra Matte Lip WEDNESDAY
This shade is my favorite one from this collection. This bright pink shade is a summer party color, completely transfer and kiss proof. I will highly recommend this flattering shade to pink lovers. However, if you can’t pull off bright colors, then you must avoid purchasing this one
ColourPop Ultra Matte Lip 1ST BASE
I wonder what made me purchase this shade, as it only meant for cool undertones. The color looks ridiculous on yellow undertones. It has amazing pigmentation but the color settles into the lip lines, which is a major drawback with most of the lipsticks in this range.
Colourpop Ultra Matte Lip Bianca
I burst into laughter when I think about this shade, that looks horrible on me. Alas !! I squandered my $6 on a product, which is of no use for me. This shade has visible mauve undertone and it will look best on cool undertones with fair skin.
ColourPop Ultra Matte Lip KAE
This is very strong brown color in matte finish. The color looks great on fair to medium skin tones and goes perfectly with brown smokey eyes. This lipstick again is highly pigmented but settles into the lip lines.
